Public safety agencies often take on initiatives that require a capacity or skillset their organization simply does not have. These agencies understand the importance of the work that needs to be done and have a clear vision for the impact it could have, but need a partner to help them bring that vision to fruition.
Providing this assistance to agencies of all sizes has been a core function of NCPI since our founding more than 20 years ago. We’ve launched nationwide public awareness campaigns, implemented and administered a statewide technology-enhanced notification system for victims, developed customized training programs for local departments across the country, and much more.

Program Capacities:
Since 2007, VCPI has administered, managed, and promoted Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia. This critical service provides peace of mind to tens of thousands of Virginians each year by providing victims of crime with real-time updates on the custody status of their offender(s).
Our team coordinates data from over 65 jails and Department of Corrections facilities along with the Virginia State Police Sex Offender Database to ensure victims have the most up to date information available. Additionally, a notification enhancement feature is tied to the Virginia Sex Offender Registry, and soon, VCPI will add protective order notification services to the VINE platform.
We manage content for the Virginia VINE website and social media channels, and have implemented advertising campaigns that raise awareness about the program among millions of Virginians.
Program Capacities:
When the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute needed a partner to help develop and administer its Certification Program—which recognizes the continued commitment of Virginia sheriffs and deputies to excellence, life-long learning, and advancement of public safety as a profession—they turned to NCPI. Learn everything you need to know about the VSI Certification Program in the video below.
