North Richlands Hills, Texas is a small community that 70,000 residents call home.
While the North Richland Hills Police Department moves into the initial phase of implementing crisis intervention teams, it leans on its key partners Tarrant County My Health My Resources (MHMR) Law Liaison Program and North Texas Law Enforcement Mental Health Association. The grant funding afforded North Richland Hills the opportunity to hire a full-time clinician in January 2023. The clinician aids responding officers, coordinates resources, and engages in decision-making when appropriate. A focus of the clinician’s role includes developing best practices for responding to those with repeat needs and providing follow-up services. Cohort 2022.
