Maximizing Impact Through Agency Partnerships

NCPI continues to expand the impact of our national programs through intentionally investing in partnerships with local agencies and state-level organizations across the country. These collaborations are designed to support the most pressing public safety needs of thousands of law enforcement agencies, in ways that are both efficient and effective.

Our commitment to these types of partnerships was recently featured in the COPS Office Community Policing Dispatch, showcasing our focus on streamlining access to high-quality low-cost or no-cost training and ensuring officers are able to receive the continuing education credits they need to fulfill state requirements.

For instance, NCPI began partnering several years ago with the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) so that law enforcement agencies throughout the state could take advantage of free, web-based training administered by NCPI through the COPS Training Portal, one of our programs that has been in place since 2017. When agency resources such as time and money are strained and pulled in many directions, having this access is critical to meeting the constantly evolving demands of public safety.

The AZPOST saw value in partnering and approved courses for in-service credit, which today has resulted in more than 4,000 training enrollments from individuals representing over 160 organizations in Arizona, meeting professional development needs on topics like ethics, drug awareness and enforcement, school-based policing, interacting with people with intellectual ad developmental disabilities and more.  Likewise, we’ve established formal partnerships with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and the Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council which involve both the approval of dozens of training programs and NCPI’s extensive administrative support in delivering customized course completion reports so that officers’ training records and certifications remain current. Together, these partnerships have the potential to impact more than 100,000 law enforcement officers and several thousand agencies across these states.

In addition to this large-scale support, NCPI actively partners with agencies in 16 states to provide services that allow them to leverage the COPS Training Portal to drive their training strategy. We empower them to use tools to bulk register personnel, simplify record-keeping, and track training progress at scale—making it easier than ever to manage agency-wide learning.

NCPI is focused on expanding our impact by working directly with agencies to deliver accessible and effective training solutions. Check out the Community Policing Dispatch article and connect with us to explore how we can support your agency’s training goals.
