BJA NTTAC Crime Prevention Training and Technical Assistance Services

Since 2015, NCPI has been a designated training and technical assistance provider for the Bureau of Justice Assistance, National Training and Technical Assistance Center (BJA NTTAC).

The services and expertise we offer through BJA NTTAC focuses on delivering customized crime prevention training and consulting solutions to agencies throughout the United States.

NCPI’s role as a BJA TTAC provider

Based on the needs of agencies requesting assistance through BJA NTTAC, NCPI provides a variety of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) services. These may include:

  • comprehensive physical security assessments
  • reports of findings and recommendations to enhance community capacity
  • collaborative training workshops for law enforcement and community stakeholders

For each engagement, NCPI collaborates with BJA NTTAC and the requesting agency to ensure that our services help them achieve their desired public safety outcomes.

In some instances, we may be able to provide a simple training solution, while other times, the needs may be more complex, requiring a multi-faceted approach.

About BJA NTTAC

The mission of the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is to provide leadership and services in grant administration and criminal justice policy development to support local, state, and tribal law enforcement in achieving safer communities.

Established in 2008, BJA’s National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) connects state, local, and tribal justice agencies in need of assistance with specialized national experts to help address those needs. The justice agencies BJA NTTAC assists range from prosecutors’ offices to police departments, to city and county commissioners, to corrections departments. Our goal is to provide these agencies the resources needed to reduce violent and drug-related crime, support law enforcement, manage people in confinement or on community supervision, and combat victimization.

To achieve this goal, BJA NTTAC provides no-cost training and specialized guidance – also known as technical assistance – both in-person and virtually on a wide variety of criminal justice topics ranging from crime prevention, to mental health, to adjudication.  We take the time to understand the specific justice-related need of the agency requesting help and match that need with the right expert to provide the training or specialized guidance.
