Located outside Los Angeles in Southern California, Anaheim is home to nearly 346,000 residents.
Anaheim Police Department’s (APD) mission is to maintain a safe community to live, work, and play. APD works to accomplish this mission through its innovative and strategic approach to providing comprehensive public safety service via the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).
Additional PERT support allows individuals in mental health crisis to receive rapid response and assistance which increases access to care and treatment options. APD looks to provide additional training to help officers develop their knowledge and understanding as it relates to providing effective care for those experiencing a mental health crisis while positively interacting with community members.
