The City of Waukesha is the county seat of Waukesha County located along the Fox River with a population of 71,158.
The City of Waukesha plans to partner with Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to hire an additional clinician and expand the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) from one team to two teams. The department has already committed resources to assign an additional specialized CIT-trained officer. The expansion intends to extend hours of coverage, allowing CRU to respond to more individuals in crisis. A second team seeks to enhance networking opportunities for proactive community engagement, potentially involving collaborators such as jail and community corrections. Cohort 2023.
