The City of Orem aspires to establish a full-time mental health advocate position that aims to tackle the escalating mental health challenges within Orem’s community and beyond. The mental health advocate plays a pivotal role in the mental health response training, enhancing the proficiency of officers’ interventions not only within Orem but also across various agencies in Utah County. In addition, the advocate intends to forge strong partnerships with community mental health providers, facilitating seamless access to proper resources for individuals experiencing mental health concerns.
