The Aurora Police Department (APD) Crisis Intervention Unit is a joint effort between the Aurora Police Department, Family Service Association of the Greater Elgin Area, and the Aurora University which aims to provide co-response on site to individuals in crisis or for post-crisis management. Cohort 2022.
Program Goals
- Employ a licensed social worker to function as a co-responder
- Support participation in two professional conferences
- Certify multiple officers as CIT Coordinators
