Glen Rock is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey with a population of approximately 12,133 people. Many of the Glen Rock Officers on patrol are also certified Emergency Medical Technicians (E.M.T.’s).
The Glen Rock Police Department will use the FY24 PACT funding to enhance its Community Outreach Unit by implementing the “Arrive Together” program, in partnership with the NJ Attorney General’s Office, backfill overtime for CIT training, and cover travel expenses for the Chief to attend a national conference on crisis intervention. This initiative seeks to provide comprehensive crisis intervention by certifying all officers as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officers, enabling them to collaborate effectively with mental health providers and emergency professionals. This project highlights our commitment to improving responses to individuals in mental health crises, promoting Glen Rock as a Stigma Free Community, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both our residents and officers. Cohort 2024.
